Why Accept Bitcoin? Four Things It Changes About Getting Paid
Lower fees, no chargebacks, dollars in your account in seconds, and customers who can already pay. What accepting Bitcoin through riverArk changes for a business.
Most owners who add Bitcoin at the register do not care about Bitcoin. They care about the four things below. Two minutes of video, then the detail.
1. It costs less to get paid
Cards cost most small businesses 1.5% to 3.5% of every sale. riverArk's rate starts at 1% and goes down with volume.
There is also a setting called Dynamic Pricing. Set it to +1% and the customer paying with Bitcoin covers the riverArk fee inside their quote. You keep the full sticker price. Set it negative and it becomes a discount for paying this way. Your call, per account.
2. No chargebacks
A completed Lightning payment is final. There is no bank in the middle to reverse it, so there is no dispute window, no evidence packet, no fee for losing.
That is why this works for deposits and no-show fees as well as sales: a deposit paid this way stays paid.
3. Dollars in your account in seconds
You invoice in dollars. The customer pays in whatever their app holds. You receive dollars, settled to your own account, in seconds. No bitcoin on your books unless you choose it, no waiting for a batch, nothing to reconcile differently.
riverArk never holds the money. It moves from the customer to your account; riverArk creates the invoice and reports the payment.
4. Your customers can already do this
Cash App lets a customer pay a Bitcoin invoice straight from their dollar balance. They scan, confirm, done, and they never hold bitcoin. That is roughly 58 million monthly Cash App users who can pay you this way today, plus anyone with a Lightning wallet.
So the question is not whether your customers own bitcoin. Most do not need to.
What Lightning is, in one paragraph
Lightning is a payment network built on Bitcoin. Payments confirm in seconds and cost a fraction of a cent to send, which is what makes a $4 coffee practical. riverArk uses it as the rail; you see a QR code and a paid notice.
Getting set up
Sign up at ark.riverark.io, connect your business settlement account (approval usually takes a day or two with complete documents), and you can accept the first payment. The API is public today; the counter and link products are rolling out.

riverArk does not give investment advice and does not recommend holding bitcoin as a business strategy. You can settle every sale in US dollars.
